Day 57 - Plyometrics Bucket list

Man oh Manochevitz as my gay JEwish uncle used to say. I don't have a gay Jewis uncle and I've never heard any of my uncles say anything like that. Mostly, my uncle Steve used to beat my ass in Basketball untill I was a senior in High school. Most of you say, well that's not bad, but the reality is he's 5'6" and hadn't played ball since highschool and he has about 14 years on me. Anyway, I'd kick his ass now. Uncle Darl used to just threatn Cory and I that he was going to put his boots on...which boots you ask? His ass kicking boots for when Cory and I would get into trouble or start fighting. We never let him get to the point of actually putting the boots on as he was a big dude.

Plyometrics today, lots of jumping around and squatting. Wrote down my heart rate during each break and I'm a good 5 to 10 beats lower than I was 2 weeks ago. I'm getting in shape and doing all of the advanced versions of the moves for the entire workout. It feels good. It also feels good when I putting jumpers in HHH's eye at the end and striking Koko out with my left hand pitches.
About to take this show on the road for the first time. I'll be in Houston the next few days and visiting Koko's hoe gym. Rumor has it he's moved on from the X and is now enamored with triathlons. Talk about short attention span!

Day 56 - Back and Chest

Old fashioned Push ups and Pull ups. I have been looking forward to this workout for a while now, as I wanted to see how much I've improved over day 1. What you are about to read may just absolutely SHOCK you! On day 1 I did a whopping 44 total regular push ups for the entire workout. I did the rest of my push ups on my knees and my total was 129 push ups for the work out. Today I did 139 total push ups with out dropping to my knees. I did an additional 21 push ups on my kness for Diamond pushups and 4 for Military pushups as I was failing on my last set. So my total for today was 160 vs 122. The most exciting part is 44 push ups on day 1 and 139 push ups today. 8 weeks. This has been done in 8 weeks.

Day 55 - Because I do Yoga!

Yoga was sweet. I completed the first 45 minutes in its entirety. Moving in a tiny space and sweating like crazy. Showed off for the wifey while doing crane and felt great afterwards.
Had some relatives over yesterday and one of Skye's cousins is a Yogi and the guy is crazy in some of the moves he can execute. Some day

I'm in shape, now I just need my physique to catch up with me. I did what is possibly the hardest workout of the series today and really pushed myself. I can feel gains all over and this is only my 8th week. I never thought I'd be a gritter type that gets off on working out in his garage but it is actually where I got my start in good old Morgan County! In our garage on County Road 3.

I love love love stretching. I'm amazed at how much I love stretching. My fondest memories of stretching used to be HHH leading us in German, Bubba in French, and Simmons shouting Captain Caveman! Major improvements and it feels good!

Day 52 - KenPow!

Man was I ready for this workout! I love Kenpo! I really brought it today, although I didn't get my heart up to cardiac arrest of 173 in vertical punches but I was up over 160 and my average HR was 136 for the entire session. I feel good about it. I'm hoping that this week will start to show some slimming effects on my tire area. This week couldn't come at a better time as I was getting tired, que AI, I'm looking forward to stretching tomorrow and the weekend of Yoga and Core Synergistics.
At this point, I can't see any difference today in my physique from day 30 but I'm sure that's my humble opinion of myself. I am starting to see some abs peaking out of the top of my belly...I need a tan and the same studio lights that HHH uses for my 60 day photo shoot!

Day 51 - Core Synergistics

I knew I was in for a tough workout and I was prepared for it. I woke up late this morning and really wanted to say that I would do this workout this evening but I know myself too well and pushed play at 6:15. Looking back to my first experience with this workout, I am personally impressed with my gains in 4 weeks time. Did the whole workout this morning and got Plank to Chataranga run in. Man is that tough, my hips still need some flexibility to make this really work effectively but I did the whole minute in this mother! I can feel improvements in my overall buddy strenght and I can see this workout being a core workout for me in the futer when I'm done with P90x. I'm going to be doing a second run of this when I finsih the intitial 90 days as I really want to see top results!

Day 50 - Beginning of the Recovery Week

I love Yoga! I've always thought it was a bit gay and not really my style but after doing now for 8 weeks., I'm really getting into it. I look forward to Yoga and have gotten to the point where I can do all of the moves and maintain throughout. Now I'm just trying to improve my form and gain strength and flexibility. Moving in a tiny space and sweating like crazy!
I'm working on crane but it's still a major challenge for me. I get it for a little over 10 count and then have to come out. I'm getting up to wheel now for over a 10 count as well then going back to bridge. Yoga Belly 7 is challenging and I'm again able to perform the entire series. I just went back and read my first posts and it's amazing to see how far I've come in a short period of time. I couldn't even think about doing Boat the first week and now I'm rocking the boat and one legged boat big time! I really enjoy the corpse pose as I know Kdawg does too!

Day 48 KeMMMMPo X - in honor of Koko

I really brought it today. I'm not sure if it's because I'm looking forward to recovery hair or March Madness, or the fact that I did my body measurements this morning and I'm not happy with what I saw. I think it's because I saw Kiscoe's progress pics and although I'm very happy for his progress, my competitive nature kicked in and I envision his face in front of every one of my punches. I mean this with all due respect. Anyway, got the Heart rate to 173 today after vertical punches.

Day 46 and 47

Yoga X on Day 46. Played golf Friday afternoon and my game is more in control since starting this workout series. Still not to HHH bomb status but better than the Stupid monkey Koko.
Shot a 45 on the front of a tough course. Hit the first 2 greens in regulation and pars on both, hit a beautiful 7 iron 180 yards which was too long into a back bunker but up and down for bogey. I didn't blow up untill the back nine and had 2 triples and a double bogey, but rebounded with a great drive on 15 to par that hole as well. I had the most pars on my card as I've ever had.
Anyway, about to go do legs and back. Drea's calling!

Day 45 - The Ides of March

Back and Bis, I seem to be getting more and more tired as the weeks drag on. I have not reached AI status yet, but I'm looking forward to recovery Hair next week. I am beat. I upped my pull ups by 11 this week, up to 73 total pull ups. Definately seeing strength gains, I'm going to do some measurements today to get a half way point of my progress and see if there is the same progress for the next 45 days. I saw a lot of progress in the first half of this program but feel like I'm stuck at this level of softness around my midsection. I'm going to tweak the diet a little more to remove 1 or 2 carbs a day. HHH is in Kentucky and who knows how he's dorking out...

Day 43 Chest Shoulders tri

Improvement is the word of the day.
I upped my total pushups to 148 from 137 a week ago. The main thing to note is that I'm feeling stronger through the entire workout for pushups and can actually push myself to failure now as opposed to 6 weeks ago when I was merely in survival mode.
It's also really tough to do ab ripper after such an intense workout but I got er done and did a full 40 count of Mason twists. Fuck the bonus time Tony!

Day 40, 41, 42 - My legs are Sore

Saturday was legs and Back, my least favorite workout in the entire series. However, I went after it on Saturday with a vengence. I added weight to some lunges and squats, (went up to 25lbs) which doesn't seem like much at the time but once you get done your legs are fried. Also, I'm finally seeing improvement in my Pull-ups, in this workout you have 4 sets of pull-ups repeated twice and it's max out time for each set. Before Saturday I used the stool for every single pullup. Saturday, I started each set hanging free and had the stool pushed way forward to keep the cheating to a minimum, I was able to do multiple hanging pullups for each of the first 4 sets and finished every set with a full negative dropn without the stool. Realistically, I know I won't be entering pull up contests, but to make this kind of improvement is pretty...pretty ...pretty...prettty...exciting.
Sunday had a great session of Kenpo and finished with a flurry of vertical punches that would make Roy Jones Jr. proud.
Stretched today and that felt good. Skye decided to come down and take Bella's place of telling me what I was doing wrong and I reacted as I would to anyone telling me I'm doing something wrong, I got pissed off!

Day 39 Yoga X - Because I do Yoga

I am beginning to look forward to Yoga. I really look forward to minute 45. The funny thing is, that you get through the crazy moves then you think ah the easy stuff is coming. Then you get hit with the crane, rocked a solid 20+ seconds today, and another 15 seconds before I fell on my face. Half way got the wheel done today. I didn't plan well for my meals today and as Dr James Meyer says Propper Preparation Prepares you for something...

Day 38 Back and Biceps - Pulling and curling!

Wow, I'm seeing results faster than the first phase, I guess this is where the muscle confusion kicks in. I had some major stomache issues this morning and thought a couple of times about putting the workout off till later today but realized that the prize was in doing it this morning.
I started out slow but once I saw that my least favorite ladie was part of the workout today, I got fired up. I hate this bitch with a passion! She's so annoying! I wish this lady was one of the partners Tony used but the bitch today gets the job done in a different way.
Anyway, some comparisons from a week ago's workout - Pullups Did 62 pull ups today vs 56 last week. Even more telling is that the stool is further away and I'm relying on my own strength more. This is going to be a slow growth area for me, but as Tony says, "Do your best and Forget the rest" I went from doing 150 total curls last week to 163 up 13 on reps and added weight to at least 5 of the movements today. I look forward to not being able to pick up my girls tomorrow. The other news of note for today is... I completed the entire session of Pfifer scissors today, I haven't been able to do a full 25 count yet and today I got er done. I sufferred for it later in Mason twists but it was cool to do. One of these days, I'll see some abs, probably around day 90. Overall great workout and to set you straight on a few things or bring you back to reality, this is how Vida's ass looks in real life. Don't get me wrong, I'm still into it but the camera angles they use in the mags really glam it up!

Day 36 - Chest Tris and Shoulders

Old Fashioned pushing weight routines! They've tried all kinds of new fangled devices and exercises but there's no substitute for good old fashioned Missionary style fucking!
Well, I got a little narsicistic this morning and had to see what I looked like with my shirt off.
Getting big, and the most important part is that I'm seeing strength gains again! The amazing part about this is the Muscle confusion. You see, muscle confusion is when your muscles become confused due to the different exercises they are doing. It's much like when you suggest to Koko that you start this program at any time of the week other than a Monday. Utter Confusion!
Seriously though back to last week's post on this same workout, could Tony have picked an uglier woman to represent the opposite sex? She's not even remotely attractive. I would not have sex with her even if I had drank 45 beers, done a mound of blow and had 3 hits of ecstasy. No way, no how not in a million years.
I rocked Ab Ripper today. Almost went the entire time of Mason Twists. I believe HHH said it best, try to clasp your hands together and touch the ground on each side of the mat.

Day 35 Stretch or rest - I choose Rest today

Man am I tired! This time change BS is for the birds man! I got a preview shot Brad's 60 day pics and man am I impressed. Almost as impressed as I am with Wyatt's ass. Anyway, commencing Diet Phase 2 today and I'm excited about adding some carbs as I am hungry all of the time now. I'm looking forward to the day when I can disrobe in public without too many gasps of horror. All I wanna do is have some fun!
On a side note, we have new P90X converts coming into the fold, Halidhino and his wife Mrs. Head!

Day 34 - Kenpo X

Daylight savings time, the first week of a new phase and the fact that I haven't completely added as many carbs as called for in the diet have brought me to my first real weak workout. I was not bringing it for Kenpo, In fact, I mimiced the big guy in the back for most of this workout. I got er done and am looking forward to a day off, although, I need to stretch. Boy am I pooped!

Day 33 Back and Legs - Drea sucks!

Saturday morning came too early today. I didn't get started till late due to some stomache issues, (snake soup anyone?) I had red meat twice yesterday and I think my system is not used to that. Once I got warmed up I got into it. I am making pretty pretty pretty solid gains on my back, gains on pull ups on every set, although I got wasted half way through the pull ups. It's crazy how tough the first week of each phase is and how tired I am right now. I need to get some rest this weekend.

Day 32 _Yoga Roxxxxx

I was extremely excited about doing Yoga this morning. When I say excited I mean, tall standing morning wood excited. Getting up before the alarm is becoming common and I look forward to the workouts, I rocked Yoga today and was very sure of myself leading up to the Crane. However, it was not to be had, I did however, rock a pushup through each vinyasa.
I was also featured on the cover of Downward Dog Magazine.

Day 31 - Back and Biceps - Revenge of the Curls

Jeremy Joseph! Don't get me wrong, I love curls and I love doing them but this is ri-god damned - diculous! Curls, Curls, Curls - My first time out of the box on this workout and I did a total of 150 curls and 56 pull-ups. I honestly don't know how this was possible but I pushed play and here I am telling you about it. When I say you, I mean HHH. Koko is so gay that he won't even read these blogs. He must have too many episodes of the bachelor, amazing race, and desperate housewives backed up in TIVO to pay attention to his boys.
Now, as for today, one of the things I hate most in this world are people who are just blatant kiss asses! I'm in sales so there's a certain amount of kissing I have to do on a daily basis but I hate the "Teacher's pet" type of Kiss Ass. Kate is way too annoying for me. I found myself towards the end of this workout competing with this bitch to do more reps than her. If she said she was doing 12, I did 13, If she did 15, I did 16. On to Ab Ripper X, I got it on today! I'm still sore from last week's core intensive but got down and was surprised to see that 25 in and outs were done, 25 bicycles, then reverse bicycles kicked me in the ding ding. However, this isn't Ab 100 or 200 folks this is ab ripper 349 and I'm pretty sure I got to 300 for the first time today. HUGE!

Day 30 Picture Day - PLyometrixxx





Wow, 30 days into it and looking back now, I really needed to get on this program. I'm not proud of where I was physically but at the age of 36 it was time for a change. Sure I half assed trained for triathlons, went to the gym and went through the motions, you know the drill...Warm up on the elliptical of bike for 20 mins depending on how hard you want to push it, head to the bench, go to the incline bench, do some lat pull downs, and then hit the dumb bells for Millitary presses to curls for the girls. Well as you can see by the "before" pictures, that wasn't working. Anyway, on to today's workout. Plometrix X. Man does this kick me in the balls! Halfway through I always think I'm going to faint, somewhere between squat, twist and shout, and running around in circles.

Koko is gay! Day 60 is sure to be the most dramatic rose ceremony yet!

Day 29 - Phase II Day 1 Chest- Sholuders - Tris

Jeeeeesus Shuttlesworth! That's a lot of Push ups! Man for my first day of this push up crazy workout I did 134 total push ups. The shit of it is that Tony starts you right out of the gate with some ridiculously slow moving pushups. Start in Plank position go down at a slow 4 second pace and back up for 4 seconds with a wide grip, then go to normal grip do the same thing 4 times and go to military close grip pushups and do 4 times, then fire it up as fast as you can. Are you kidding me? We still have 45 minutes left Tony. Also, could you find an uglier woman to put in your video than the witch up front? She's horrendous! Give me some Blam any day or the little cutey from Yoga but that old hag has got to go. Anyway, I'm impressed with the intensity of these workouts and had to pause and rewind several times to get the correct exercise. I wasn't able to complete Ab ripper today due to time constraints but my core is feeling pretty fried from Sunday's yoga and last week's extra emphasis on the core so I'll allow myself to skip it and get after it on Thursday. Pumped out 8 clapping pushups at the end so I'm excited about that but the one handed pushups are a joke. All in All still not losing weight but I'm down two holes in my belt so something is going on? I must have been pretty soft to start this bad boy, tomorrow is picture day and I am excited to see the difference in 30 days of work. Still only a third of the way through this thing and even more committed now than when I started.

Day 28 X Stretch or Rest

I chose Rest today, I needed the sleep as I've been pushing this hard core for the last 27 days, even though I did not stretch on Saturday, I did snowboard and was up at the crack of dawn again. My wife spent yesterday shopping while I did Yoga X when the kids were sleeping, but the kids awoke at 6:00 am sharp yesterday. Tomorrow begins my Phase II. Fuck yeah muther fucker!

Day 26 and Day 27 Yoga Belly 7 Times

Yesterday was a stretch day for me and I decided to take the day off while Mo Huddy and I took our oldest children to the mountains for a day of skiing. It turned out to be 6.5 hours of driving f0r 4 total hours of time on the slope and only an hour and a half for snowboarding for Mo and I. It was a nice little road trip and yesterday was also my cheat day, judging by the scales today, I succeeded in cheating alright. I'm only going to weigh myself on day 30, 60, and 90 from here on out to prevent discouragement.
I rocked Yoga today, I'm doing pushups between each chataranga vinyasa to downward dog and really got after it on all of the moves today. I did crane for 3 seperate stands of ~10 seconds+ and really got into it towards the end. I was also able to complete all of Yoga Belly today which is a first. I'm going to really focus on the diet for this week and get into Phase II mother fucka!
